Dr Daniel Hill

Lecturer in Global Change Modelling

A climate modeller who studies the impact of past and future climate changes on the Earth system, I am interested in a broad range of time periods and climate processes. I use a variety of computer models, including climate models from the UK Met Office Hadley Centre. My previous research has particularly focussed on the Pliocene epoch, the last period of Earth history with warmer temperatures and greenhouse gases similar to today. I am currently working on a number of projects, including the response of ancient civilizations to climate change, the role of climate in the largest mass extinction at the Permo-Triassic boundary and the impact of long term future climate change on the biosphere and human habitability.

For more information on my current and past research see the various pages of this website.
