Welcome to my Homepage...

I am the School Research Support Manager for the School of Earth and Environment in the University of Leeds. I work with the Director for Research and Innovation to support research activity within the school. I am responsible for the implementation of the School's research strategy, identifying funding sources and have recently co-ordinated an Early Career Researcher Forum within the School. I also work to ensure that the School is prepared for the next Research Excellence Framework.

Additionally, I remain active in research and mainly focus on Palaeoclimate and ice sheet modelling of the Pliocene Epoch (c. 5-3 million years ago). Before taking up my current role at Leeds, I was previously an ERC Fellow within the Palaeo@Leeds Research Group. The ERC project worked on trying to quantify the long term sensitivity of the Earth's system to changes in levels of carbon dioxide using the Pliocene. I use I work on modelling oceans, terrestrial environments and the Antarctic and Greenland ice sheets.

I am also interested in promoting education of the next generation of scientists and encouraging networking between early career scientists. For 3 years I was a member of the UK Polar Network (UKPN) committee. UKPN is an organisation run by Ph.D. students and post-docs, which aims to support early career scientists, to provide a networking framework to enhance scientific collaboration and to promote education of children and adults about Polar issues. I was also a member of the UK National Committee for Antarctic Research (UKNCAR) and I currently sit on the Council of the American Geophysical Union (AGU) as an Early Career Member.
