Our research focuses on the processing and transport of trace gases and aerosols in the atmosphere, and their interactions with the Earth's climate system. This research is key to improving our understanding of changes in present-day and future climate & air quality. We use numerical models in conjunction with observations from aircraft, satellites and surface sites to investigate these fundamental processes.

18 Oct 2011: We co-authored a new paper in GRL, led by our colleagues at MPI Mainz, demonstrating a significant relationship between certain phytoplankton species in the ocean and observed organic iodine particulate and gas phase abundances in the remote marine boundary layer:
