Our
research focuses on the processing and transport of trace
gases and aerosols in the
atmosphere, and their interactions with the Earth's climate system.
This
research is key
to improving our understanding of changes in present-day and future
climate
& air quality. We use numerical models in conjunction
with observations from
aircraft, satellites and surface sites to investigate these fundamental
processes.
News 30 Jan 2012: Our new study on crop impacts from intercontinental ozone transport has been published in Biogeosciences. More information here. 18 Oct 2011: We co-authored a new paper in GRL, led by our colleagues at MPI Mainz, demonstrating a significant relationship between certain phytoplankton species in the ocean and observed organic iodine particulate and gas phase abundances in the remote marine boundary layer: Lai, S. C., J. Williams, S. R. Arnold, E. L. Atlas, S. Gebhardt, and T. Hoffmann, (2011), Iodine containing species in the remote marine boundary layer: A link to oceanic phytoplankton, Geophys. Res. Lett., 38, L20801, doi:10.1029/2011GL049035. |
