Difficulties II: Conservation
In the presence of shock waves conservative methods
Lax-Wendroff Theorem (1960): If a conservative
scheme converges it does so to a weak solution of
Hou-LeFloch Theorem (1994): A non-conservative
scheme, if convergent, will converge to the wrong
solution, if a shock wave is present.
