  • 1 Rossby; 2 Gravity; 2 Acoustic modes

• 2 flavours:

  • External (1 Rossby; 2 Acoustic (Lamb)):
    • Non-oscillatory, zero vertical velocity (shallow)
  • Internal modes (all 5 modes of response):
    • Oscillatory
