TOMCAT Near Real Time Simulations |
|
|
This page
provides access to
plots of tropospheric trace-gas
distributions from the TOMCAT global chemical transport model. The
model is
being run in 'near real time', meaning that model fields are usually
available up to 1-2 days prior to present. TOMCAT is driven by meteorological analyses from the ECMWF, and for these simulations a resolution of approximately 2.8 x 2.8 degrees in the horizontal with 31 vertical levels is used. Global biomass burning emissions are provided by Solene Turquety, updated daily from MODIS satellite retreivals. Biomass burning emissions are distributed through the vertical column as specified by the HTAP model intercomparison exercise. Monthly-mean biogenic emissions and climatological monthly anthropogenic emissions are taken from the IPCC. For more information please contact Steve Arnold.
