The Team Mark Reed is co-ordinating the project. He is Acting Director of the Aberdeen Centre for Environmental Sustainability and a Senior Lecturer at the University of Aberdeen (Centre for Planning and Environmental Management, School of Geosciences). He specialises in stakeholder participation in environmental management, focussing on land degradation and restoration in desert and mountain areas. Joris de Vente is a researcher employed on the Involved project who specialises in assessing the impacts of changes in climate, land use and land management on soil and water resources and related ecosystem services from local to regional scales. He is experienced in conducting participatory processes, engaging with a wide range of stakeholders and disseminating project results. Lindsay Stringer is collaborating as a Co-Investigator and brings complementary expertise in political ecology and environmental governance, providing internal pre-review and methodological guidance for the project Jens Newig is collaborating as a consultant and has previously trialed a meta-analysis of participatory environmental projects, enabling this project to build on this experience. He is an Associate Professor at Leuphana University Lüneburg, Germany Despina Psarra is undertaking fieldwork for the case study research. She is a part-time PhD student (supervised by Lindsay Stringer, Mike Kirkby and Mark Reed) on a different but related topic, and is funded by the University of Leeds
