Kgalagadi Transfrontier National Park

Tours to the Kgalagadi Transfrontier National Park can be arranged from Berrybush, to suit your schedule and pocket, accompanied by Keith who is a professional guide. Keith and Jill are available to advise you on tours and packages in other districts.

The first peace park in Africa, the Kgalagadi Transfrontier National Park is 80 km from Berrybush. The park is a pristine wilderness that supports all the desert species, including the famous black-maned Kalahari lion, in addition to Springbok, Gemsbok and a diverse bird population. Keith is an expert in the adaptation of the animals to desert conditions.

It is one of the largest protected areas in the world, covering 38 000 km2 of unspoiled African bush. Various trails have recently been opened in areas that were previously reserved for research only. These tours are designed not only to see the fauna of the desert, but to appreciate all aspects of nature in this vast thirstland. You will be encouraged to look deeper into the secrets of the Kalahari, its numerous natural cycles and interdependence between plants, animals and insects. You will also have the opportunity to learn how to identify different species, spoor and dung. This can be a particularly rewarding experience.
