TOMCAT Near Real Time Simulations
The site holds plots of the distribution of halogen-containing
very short-lived species (VSLS) in the Western Pacific
region from the TOMCAT/SLIMCAT global chemical transport
model (CTM). The model is being run in 'near real time', meaning that model
output is available ~1 day ater the current date. For simulations
here, the CTM is forced with ECMWF winds and temperatures, run with
a horizontal resolution of 2.8 x 2.8 degrees and has
38 vertical levels (surface to ~5 hPa).
For CHBr3 and CH2Br2, TOMCAT uses
the emission fluxes of Liang et al. (2010). Global and Western Pacific CHBr3
emission map here. For
CH2Br2 click here.
