I am a
lecturer and
author. My primary interests are in climate change, food, landscape and
history. Although a Canadian by upbringing, I work at the
Sustainability
Research Institute, School of
Earth and Environment, University
of Leeds in Northern England. I live in the Yorkshire Dales National Park
with a
wife, Christine and two children, Nina and Fynn.

Current
position: I am
a senior
lecturer (what would be called an associate professor in a North
American
university) in sustainable development.
I also hold an Economic and Social Research Council Fellowship. This
means that
although I have spent the last few years teaching both undergraduates
and
masters students, I am now on three
years of
research leave.
