Jobs:

Jeff Peakall and I will shortly be announcing and actively recruiting for a 3-year post-doc position working on our new NERC Grant on the "Dynamics of Submarine Channels: a process-product approach".....check back for details in the next few months!

PhDs Available Sept' 2009:

Several PhD opportunities are available to work with me on topics ranging from the dynamics of large rivers and sedimentation to investigating flow turbulence and sediment transport in our state of the art facilities at the SEFDL. The PhD Topics I have available are:

------------------------------------

Coherent flow structures and aquatic vegetation in open channel flows: influences and implications

Supervisors: Dan Parsons, Jane Francis and Jeff Peakall

Man-made Gravity Currents: a Panacea for Global Sedimentation Problems?

Supervisors: Jeff Peakall, Dan Parsons and Gareth Keevil

The influence of scale on flow dynamics in large river channels

Supervisors: Dan Parsons, Jeff Peakall and Richard Hardy (Durham)

Coherent flow structures, sediment entrainment, suspension and transport over river beds: an integrated experimental and numerical study

Supervisors: Dan Parsons, Jeff Peakall and Richard Hardy (Durham)

------------------------------------
